Caymus Vineyards, founded in 1972 by the Wagner family in Napa Valley, California, is celebrated for its dedication to crafting bold, polished Cabernet Sauvignon wines. Over the decades, the family has expanded their expertise beyond Napa to explore the richness of California’s broader winegrowing regions. The ‘California’ Cabernet Sauvignon blends fruit from diverse appellations across the state, delivering a wine that reflects the Wagner family’s exacting standards and statewide terroir.
Wine Description
In the glass, this Cabernet pours a deep garnet colour. Aromas of ripe blackberry, cassis, and dark cherry unfold alongside notes of cocoa, vanilla bean, and subtle toasted oak. The palate is rich and fruit-forward, offering layers of black plum, raspberry compote, and mocha wrapped in velvety tannins. Medium to full-bodied with a plush mouthfeel, the wine finishes smooth, warm, and satisfying. Its round texture and supple structure make it especially approachable in its youth, though it will evolve gracefully for up to a decade.
