Bruichladdich Port Charlotte PMC:01 2013 Whisky
From the shores of Islay, this bold single malt Scotch is the sixth release in a cask-led exploration series crafted to showcase depth and terroir. Distilled using peated barley and matured in rare Pomerol wine casks. This expression combines maritime character with lush fruit intensity. Bottled at cask strength, it delivers complexity and structure, wrapped in smoky elegance and a lingering sweetness.
- Bruichladdich Port Charlotte PMC:01 2013 Whisky opens with ripe stone fruits such as plums and pears layered over warming smoke.
- Subtle notes of red berries and dried petals from the Pomerol cask influence.
- The peated character remains constant at the core, supported by earth and sea-salt nuances.
- Rich caramelised tones on the finish, balanced by oak and a touch of spice.
- Full-bodied mouthfeel with a lingering, smoky-sweet aftertaste.
This distinctive whisky pairs exceptionally with chargrilled lamb, wild game, or mushroom risotto, enhancing the interplay of smoky depth and fruit-forward notes. For dessert, consider spiced plum tart or salted caramel chocolate to mirror the whisky’s sweet, smoky complexity.
