Blanton's Gold Takara is the Gold Edition single barrel bourbon bottled for the Japanese market through Takara, Blanton's longtime Japanese partner. Each bottle is drawn one barrel at a time from Warehouse H at Buffalo Trace Distillery and filled at 103 proof (51.5% ABV), placing it above the Original Single Barrel in richness and intensity.
The aroma leads with rich caramel and vanilla, followed by layers of oak and toasted nuts. The finish is smooth, with a lingering sweetness.
A gold horse-and-jockey stopper and gold-boxed presentation set this release apart from the domestic lineup, and Japanese-market Blanton's bottlings like this one are prized by collectors stateside. 750 ml.
