This structured and "sartorial" red wine originates from the Bolgheri DOC on the Tuscan coast, Italy. Aska represents the "adventure" of the legendary Castello Banfi (historically famous for Montalcino) in the Bolgheri area, where they apply their expertise to the maritime-influenced Bordeaux blends of the region. The winery's philosophy for this bottling is to capture the elegance and concentration of the coast, delivering a "serious" wine that balances Mediterranean freshness with robust structure.
Wine Description
The Banfi Aska Bolgheri Rosso presents an intense ruby red colour with distinct violet reflections. The sensory profile is focused and "linear," featuring a primary nose of ripe blackberries, blueberries, and plum jam, layered with sophisticated notes of dried violets, wet stones, tobacco, and cocoa. On the palate, the wine is medium-to-full-bodied and juicy, showcasing firm, lightly grainy tannins and a vivid acidity that keeps the ripe fruit agile. It is characterized by its powerful structure and "mellow" mouthfeel, leading to a long, persistent finish with hints of chocolate, coffee, and pepper.
