To commemorate the 45th anniversary of its original release, Secretly Canadian presents a special vinyl reissue of Yoko Ono's seminal 1981 album, Season of Glass. This highly anticipated release marks the first time the album has been available on vinyl in over forty-five years, featuring expanded and enhanced artwork. The album, recognized as one of Pitchfork’s Top 200 albums of the 1980s, was created in the wake of the senseless murder of Ono’s husband and creative partner, John Lennon, just seven months prior. Season of Glass delves into themes of love, loss, anger, and fear, reflecting Ono’s personal experiences with stark honesty, drawing parallels to the cathartic nature of Ono and Lennon’s 1970 Plastic Ono Band albums. Ono herself described the album as a "primal scream," a necessary expression of profound life events that proved therapeutic.
The hit single “Walking on Thin Ice” is also made widely available, now streaming everywhere for the first time. This reissue offers fans a chance to experience a landmark album that stands as a powerful testament to resilience and artistic expression in the face of immense personal tragedy.
