Yellow Spot is one of the most distinctive and sought-after expressions in the Mitchell & Son Spot Whiskey range — a single pot still Irish whiskey of genuine rarity and complexity. Rather than simply being a 'finished' whiskey, Yellow Spot is special in that it contains whiskey matured for a full 12 years in three distinct oak cask types: American bourbon barrels, Spanish oloroso sherry butts, and uniquely, Spanish Malaga casks.
The Malaga cask — a rare choice in Irish whiskey production — brings an exotic, sweet, raisin-like note that sets Yellow Spot apart from anything else in the category. Only extremely limited quantities are bottled each year, making this a whiskey to seek out and savour as a true rarity.
