Privada Storytelling
Some of you may remember the Xhaxhi Bobi Halloween cigar that hit the LCA last October. It was a smash hit—mischievous, bold, and wildly flavorful. But here’s the secret: while you were enjoying that release, we were sitting on another batch made for the holidays. Enter the Grinchy. This cigar swaps a touch of Dominican filler for more Nicaraguan spice, turning a cult favorite into something even more seasonally electric.
Bobi himself is as much a part of this story as the cigar. A Dutch box maker turned Dominican rockstar, Bobi is notorious for showing up unannounced with cigars in one hand and a drink in the other, always ready to stir up trouble. He pranks, he laughs, and somehow he makes magic happen in tobacco. That energy is alive in every puff of the Grinchy. It’s festive, a little chaotic, and absolutely unforgettable.
Flavor Journey
-
First Third: Pine nuts, baker’s spices, molasses, and gingerbread light up the palate. The retrohale bursts with allspice, orange, citrus, and almond, carried by a syrupy smoke that leaves a tingling finish.
-
Second Third: Butterscotch, oak, and cinnamon take over, joined by apples and a phantom ginger ale fizz on the retro. Notes of caramel, candied orange, and raspberry follow.
-
Final Third: Dry butter pecan, maple syrup, and charred oak dominate. As the cigar closes, florals and a bright orange zest linger, wrapping the experience like the last notes of a holiday feast.
Why It Belongs in Privada
Grinchy is more than a holiday smoke—it’s a piece of Privada culture. It represents what happens when passion, artistry, and a little chaos collide. This cigar delivers seasonal nostalgia and refined craftsmanship in one perfect package. With 3+ years of aging behind it, Grinchy isn’t just playful—it’s a winter classic that showcases Bobi’s unique voice in the cigar world.
