In 2020, the World Whiskey Society (WWS), a non-distiller producer, began curating whiskies globally and presenting them in distinctively designed bottles. WWS distinguishes itself with its unique partnerships with leading whiskey manufacturers. For instance, their label transparently discloses the mash bill and distillery source, like this particular bottle sourced from Heaven Hill Distillery (Mash Bill: 74% Corn, 18% Rye, 8% Malted Barley), enhancing the allure of their offerings.
The signature Armagnac barrel finish marks the whiskey's scent with potent apricot and grape aromas, balanced by intense chocolate and seasoned oak. The mash bill resonates with Heaven Hill's key brands, especially Elijah Craig, featuring oak, vanilla, and caramel in its flavor profile. The Armagnac touch adds an unexpected twist to the traditional bourbon taste, introducing elements both familiar and pleasantly surprising.
The whiskey's impressive bottle design is undeniably unique in the market. Rather than merely re-bottling sourced whiskey, WWS took a bold step by finishing the whiskey in an unusual manner with Armagnac. While the whiskey may not be as striking as its container, its distinctive finish and the fact that it's a Heaven Hill bourbon aged in Armagnac barrels add significant value.
