Wirra Wirra Farmer's Heart is a South Australia Grenache, sourced from McLaren Vale sub-regions with vines aged 26 to 130 years. Ripe raspberry, wild cherry and sour damson aromas explode with strawberry, pomegranate, dried herbs and subtle musk, flooding the mid-weight palate with succulent red fruits, fine saline tannins and savoury spice waves. Farmers Heart Grenache delivers bright tension, thoughtful complexity and gripping freshness that begs for more.
Drink or hold for up to five years—recommended pairing: braised chicken with ginger, soy, and star anise.
96 Points - James Halliday
Ripe, but a product of the cool year, this drinks towards mid-weight, with strawberry, wild raspberry, sour cherry, damson, pomegranate and medicinal herbs coiled into a thoughtful and intricate warp and weft of tannin. There’s a pleasing sour-fruited tension to this, which complements the grip, the combination aching for food. The ripeness is à point, the structure bravely savoury and compelling. It’s delightful, but no pushover. -
