Bold from the first moment, this 17-year-old release from Wild Turkey carries the heft and nuance of decades spent in Kentucky oak. From the rickhouses at Camp Nelson, it matured patiently under Master Distiller Eddie Russell’s watchful eye. It’s aged for 17 years and bottled at 100 proof under the Bottled-in-Bond designation — a guarantee of one distilling season, one distillery, one bonded warehouse, all bottled at 50% ABV. On the nose, toasted oak and dark cherry are met by apple peel and vanilla in a rich dance of maturation. The palate unfurls layers of brown sugar, toffee, leather, and subtle tobacco leaf, then leans into warming spice — cinnamon, clove — with that Wild Turkey signature backbone. The finish lingers with mocha, smoke, and oak tannin, delivering a moment of genuine whiskey gravitas. This is not merely aged — it is deepened, refined, and anchored in heritage. Whether you savour slowly or raise a dedicated toast, it’s a whiskey that commands respect.
