Distilled at Macaloney's Island Distillery in Victoria on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, and bottled by independent bottler Whisky For Us (Spirit For Us), this artisanal single cask expression showcases traditional Scottish pot still distillation applied to 100% British Columbia malted barley. Crafted with guidance from legendary whisky consultants including the late Dr. Jim Swan, this release highlights Macaloney's signature creamy, tropical fruit-forward house style layered with sweet honey, orchard fruit, complex oak development, and gentle coastal air notes.
Food Pairing: Fresh oysters, smoked salmon, aged Cheddar, roasted pork tenderloin, or white chocolate mousse.
Tasting Notes: Rich golden amber with bright highlights and medium-to-heavy viscosity along the glass.
Nose: Vibrant and fragrant, opening with heather honey, ripe yellow peach, crisp apple, and orange marmalade, followed by subtle vanilla, toasted malt, and a gentle saline sea breeze.
Palate: Creamy and layered on the palate, featuring sweet honey, butterscotch, and tropical fruit upfront before evolving into baking spices, dark cocoa, toasted oak, and rich cereal malt.
Finish: Long, warming, and balanced with lingering notes of sweet orchard fruit, toasted oak, and subtle pepper spice.
Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature in a Glencairn glass, or add a few drops of pure water to open up the delicate fruit and honey aromas.
