Westward Whiskey Stout Cask is an innovative American single malt whiskey that bridges the worlds of craft beer and fine spirits. This distinctive expression is finished in barrels that previously held rich, robust stout beer, creating a unique flavor profile that combines the malty character of Westward's signature whiskey with the deep, roasted notes of craft stout.
Crafted in Portland, Oregon, this whiskey showcases Westward's commitment to innovation and collaboration with the craft beer community. The stout cask finishing imparts layers of complexity, adding notes of dark chocolate, espresso, and roasted malt to the whiskey's natural vanilla, caramel, and fruit-forward character.
On the nose, expect aromas of chocolate-covered cherries, toasted malt, vanilla bean, and hints of coffee. The palate delivers a rich, creamy texture with flavors of dark chocolate, caramel, roasted grain, dried fruit, and subtle hop bitterness that adds an intriguing dimension. The finish is smooth and lingering, with notes of cocoa, oak, and a gentle malty sweetness.
