This extraordinary Cartier Santos lighter, crafted in the early 1980s, is widely regarded as one of the rarest and most prestigious models ever produced within the Cartier Santos collection. Entirely handcrafted by Cartier, this exceptional piece combines a solid 925 sterling silver body with solid 18K gold decorative panels on both the front and back, creating one of the most luxurious Santos configurations ever offered by the Maison.
Unlike standard Santos models, this remarkable example features genuine precious metal construction throughout. The sterling silver body is hallmarked 925 on both the body and the underside, while the solid gold panels are individually stamped 750, confirming their solid 18K gold composition. The contrast between the finely brushed sterling silver and polished gold elements perfectly reflects Cartier’s legendary craftsmanship and attention to detail.
The iconic Santos design, inspired by the famous Cartier Santos watch collection, is enhanced by the signature exposed gold screws and elegant architectural lines that have made this model one of the Maison’s most recognizable creations. Produced in extremely limited numbers due to the complexity and cost of its handcrafted precious-metal construction, this lighter represents a museum-grade collector’s piece seldom encountered on today’s market.
Preserved in outstanding original condition and accompanied by its complete original presentation box and documents, this exceptional example embodies Cartier’s highest standards of luxury, craftsmanship, and exclusivity.
