Italy’s Abruzzo region, nestled between the Adriatic coast and the Apennine mountains, is home to Montepulciano, one of the country’s most beloved red grapes. Vigneti del Sole, originally founded by the Pasqua family in Verona in 1925, produces approachable wines that reflect Italian tradition and everyday enjoyment. Their philosophy emphasizes freshness, balance, and affordability, making them a household name for Italian table wines.
Wine Description
This Montepulciano d’Abruzzo pours a deep ruby red with violet highlights. On the nose, it offers bright red fruit aromas of cherry, raspberry, and plum, layered with subtle notes of sweet spice and dried herbs. The palate is medium-bodied, with smooth tannins and lively acidity that make it vibrant and easy to drink. Flavours of juicy red berries carry through to a balanced finish, leaving a pleasant, fruit-forward impression.
Food Pairing
This wine shines alongside classic Italian fare. Pair it with tomato-based pasta, wood-fired pizza, or grilled sausages for a comforting meal. It also works well with aged cheeses and roasted vegetables.
