Vietti Dolcetto d'Alba "Tre Vigne" 2023 is a quintessential expression of one of Piedmont's most beloved everyday red wines.
The name "Tre Vigne" (Three Vineyards) refers to the historic practice of sourcing grapes from three specific vineyard sites to achieve a balanced and consistent house style. Vietti, a world-renowned producer based in Castiglione Falletto, is celebrated for its commitment to biodiversity and artisanal craftsmanship. While the estate is famous for its "Crus" of Barolo and Barbaresco, their Dolcetto is treated with similar reverence, representing a "purist" approach that emphasizes the grape’s natural fruitiness and freshness.
Wine Description
The 2023 vintage presents a vibrant purplish-red color with youthful violet hues. The nose is remarkably expressive, featuring a bouquet of dark fruits—blackberry, raspberry, and ripe cherry—accented by subtle floral notes of violet and a hint of mineral wet stone. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and "gourmand," offering a juicy fruit core balanced by soft, integrated tannins and a refreshing acidity. It is characterized by its smooth texture and a clean, dry finish that often carries a delicate herbal or almond note.
The wine is 100% Dolcetto, sourced from vines with an average age of 30 years. To preserve its primary fruit character, the wine is typically fermented and aged for approximately six months in stainless steel or cement tanks, avoiding any significant oak influence. This 2023 release has an ABV of 13% and is designed to be enjoyed while young and fresh.
Food Pairing

Regional Specialties: It is a traditional match for dishes featuring Alba's famous truffles or aged mountain cheeses.
