The bottle photo identifies this as Tormore Legacy Casks 2009 Vintage, Cask #44031, an official single-cask release from Tormore Distillery. Distilled in May 2009 and bottled in March 2025, it matured for 15 years in a first-fill bourbon barrel before being bottled at 47.4% ABV, with an outturn of only 272 bottles. The first-fill bourbon maturation complements Tormore's fruit-forward Speyside character with ripe orchard fruit, citrus, vanilla, honey, buttery pastry and gentle oak spice.
Food Pairing: Pair with roast chicken, glazed pork, creamy Brie, mature cheddar, toasted almonds, lemon tart, apple pie, shortbread or vanilla crème brûlée.
Tasting Notes: Fruit-forward and elegant, combining ripe peach and citrus with sweet vanilla, honey, buttery malt and gently warming bourbon-oak spice.
Nose: Ripe peach and bright lemon zest with vanilla, honey and fresh pastry, followed by touches of green grass and gentle woody spice.
Palate: Creamy and fruity, with lemon cake, vanilla cream and sweet malt joined by black pepper, ginger and delicate floral notes.
Finish: Long and warming, leaving citrus, barley malt, toasted oak and softly drying spice.
Serve: Enjoy neat in a tulip-shaped whisky glass. A few drops of water can help bring forward the citrus, vanilla and orchard-fruit character.
