Tofino Blonde Ale is the quintessential coastal "lawnmower beer" from Tofino Brewing Co. on the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island. Designed to be as breezy and approachable as a day at Chesterman Beach, this beer is a cornerstone of their lineup. It is crafted specifically for high drinkability, serving as a clean, reliable refresher for surfers, hikers, and locals alike. It avoids the complexity of heavy hops or malts, focusing instead on a crisp, straightforward profile.
Beer Description
This blonde ale pours a luminous, crystal-clear straw-gold with a light, frothy white head and active carbonation.
Aroma: It features a very subtle and clean nose. Expect mild scents of sweet malt and crackers, with a faint, breezy floral note from the light addition of hops.
Palate: On the tongue, it is light-bodied and exceptionally refreshing. It delivers a soft, bready malt sweetness that is quickly followed by a clean, snappy finish. The bitterness is minimal, serving only to balance the grain character without lingering on the palate.
Profile: ABV of 5.5% and a very low bitterness, making it an ideal choice for those who prefer a beer that is easygoing and crisp.
Technical Notes: Brewed with premium malted barley and a touch of wheat to provide a smooth mouthfeel despite its light body. It is fermented with a clean-profile ale yeast and lightly hopped with traditional varieties to ensure a consistent, "barefoot" simplicity that defines the style.
