The Macallan 12 Year Old Sherry Oak 110 Proof is a bold and distinctive expression that reveals an added depth to the signature character of The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Years Old. Matured for 12 years exclusively in sherry seasoned oak casks on the 485-acre Estate at Easter Elchies, this single malt is bottled at a formidable 55% ABV (110 Proof). The elevated strength significantly enhances the bold, rich, and fruity profile that the Sherry Oak Collection is known for, resulting in a warm, evocative, and deeply flavorful whisky.
Food Pairing: Rich fruitcake, dark chocolate truffles, sticky toffee pudding, mature aged cheddar, or a premium cigar.
Tasting Notes : Deep amber in appearance with a rich, bold, and viscous mouthfeel.
Nose : Warm and evocative, opening with the indulgent aroma of sticky dates and gentle cinnamon spice.
Palate : Bold and deeply flavorful, unfolding into prominent layers of rich oak accompanied by a subtle, inviting warmth of stem ginger.
Finish : Long, robust, and exceptionally warming, leaving a lasting impression of rich oak, dark dried fruit, and lingering spice.
Serve : Serve neat to explore its full depth of flavor, or enjoy it over a large ice sphere, gently stirred with a premium cocktail cherry and a splash of its juice, as recommended by the distillery.
