The Gnu Normal London Dry Gin is a Canadian craft spirit produced by Gnu Craft Spirits based in Calgary, Alberta. Distilled in small batches using 100% Western Canadian prairie grains and fresh Rocky Mountain water, this expression is a modern, citrus-forward take on the traditional London Dry style. The recipe combines local Western Canadian juniper berries with sun-dried orange and grapefruit peel, creating a bright, crisp, and highly mixable gin.
Food Pairing: Fresh oysters, fish and chips, citrus-dressed salads, goat cheese crostini, and salted nuts.
Tasting Notes: Crystal clear in appearance with a smooth, crisp, and clean mouthfeel.
Nose: Vibrant and citrus-forward up front with bright orange and grapefruit oils, backed by piney juniper and subtle coriander spice.
Palate: Well-balanced and refreshing, featuring a burst of tangy citrus peel, resinous pine juniper, subtle grain sweetness, and earthy herbal undertones.
Finish: Clean, dry, and crisp with lingering notes of grapefruit zest, gentle pine warmth, and mild spice.
Serve: Serve over ice topped with premium tonic water or soda, garnished with a slice of fresh orange or grapefruit, or mix into a classic Dry Martini.
