The Bean Organic Coffee Co. Half-Caff 50/50 French is a 16 oz whole-bean French roast blend that combines equal parts caffeinated and decaffeinated organic beans for a bold flavor with roughly half the caffeine.
This 50/50 French Roast from The Bean Coffee Company is crafted as an organic, small-batch whole-bean option for drinkers who want classic dark-roast character without a full-caffeine impact. Hand-roasted in the USA from 100% Arabica beans and certified organic, the blend pairs traditional French roast smokiness with a smooth decaf counterpart so you retain depth and roast forward notes in every cup.
What does "50/50 French" mean for taste and strength?
"50/50 French" indicates the bag contains an equal mix of French-roasted caffeinated and French-roasted decaffeinated Arabica beans. The result keeps the bold, roasty profile of a French roast while reducing overall caffeine roughly by half compared with fully caffeinated coffee.
- Dark roast flavor with reduced brightness and pronounced roasted notes
- Smoother finish than a straight dark roast decaf because of blended Arabica beans
- Retains body and aroma typical of French roasts
How is this coffee sourced and roasted?
All beans are 100% Arabica and certified organic by USDA and CCOF, sourced from farms that follow sustainable practices. The Bean Organic Coffee Company hand-roasts each small batch in the USA to lock in freshness and pack the bag at peak roast cycle.
- USDA and CCOF certified organic beans and flavorings
- Small-batch, hand-roasted in the United States for consistent quality
- Blended from decaf and regular French-roasted Arabica beans
How should I brew and store these whole beans for best results?
Grind just before brewing for maximum aroma—use a medium-fine grind for pour-over and a coarser setting for French press. Store unopened bags in a cool, dark place; once opened, keep in an airtight container and use within two weeks for best flavor.
- Grind before brewing: finer for espresso, medium for drip, coarse for French press
- Use 1 to 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per 6 oz water as a starting guideline
- Store in airtight container away from heat, light, and moisture
Why choose this half-caff blend over regular or decaf?
This blend is a middle ground for those who want the roast intensity of a French coffee but prefer lower caffeine. It preserves much of the sensory experience—aroma, body and roast flavor—while cutting the caffeine load compared with regular coffee.
- Great for afternoon or evening drinkers reducing stimulant intake
- Offers the roast-forward experience without committing to full caffeine
- Organic and sustainably produced option for eco-conscious buyers
