The Bean Organic Coffee Co. Decaf Le Bean French is a 16 oz whole‑bean, Swiss Water Process decaf in a dark French roast that delivers bold flavor without caffeine.
Roasted in small batches in the USA, this 100% Arabica, USDA and CCOF‑certified organic coffee uses the chemical‑free Swiss Water Process to remove caffeine while keeping the oils and flavor compounds intact. The result is a rich, dark roast profile designed for those who want the intensity of a French roast but prefer a decaffeinated cup. Packaged shortly after roasting to lock in aroma, it’s aimed at home brewers who value traceable organic sourcing and careful craft roasting.
What does this decaf taste like compared with regular French roast?
This Le Bean French decaf emphasizes the deep, smoky, and chocolatey notes typical of a dark French roast while offering a smoother finish because the Swiss Water Process preserves more flavor oils. Expect a bold body, low acidity, and toasted undertones that stand up to milk and cream.
- Dark roast profile with smoky and chocolate notes
- Full body and low acidity suitable for espresso or drip
- Swiss Water Process keeps flavor compounds intact
- 100% Arabica for cleaner, more complex taste
How was the coffee decaffeinated and why does that matter?
The beans are decaffeinated using the Swiss Water Process, a solvent‑free method that relies on water and osmosis to gently remove caffeine. This preserves much of the original flavor and aromatic oils, resulting in a decaf that tastes closer to the caffeinated equivalent than many chemically treated options.
- Solvent‑free Swiss Water Process
- Better flavor retention than many chemical methods
- Suitable for drinkers avoiding chemical residues
- Maintains oils that contribute to body and aroma
Is this coffee sustainably and ethically produced?
The Bean Organic Coffee Co. sources 100% organic beans certified by USDA and CCOF and emphasizes sustainable farming practices that protect soil and biodiversity. The brand is family‑owned and roasts in small batches in the USA, helping reduce transit time from roast to packaging and supporting a smaller supply chain footprint.
- USDA and CCOF organic certification
- Farming practices that minimize synthetic inputs
- Small‑batch roasting in the USA for freshness
- Family‑owned brand supporting direct customer relationships
How should I brew or store this 16 oz whole‑bean coffee for best results?
For maximum freshness, grind just before brewing; use a slightly finer grind for espresso and a medium‑coarse grind for pour‑over or drip. Store unopened bags in a cool, dark place and transfer opened beans to an airtight container to preserve aroma and oils.
- Grind immediately prior to brewing for optimal flavor
- Espresso: fine grind; drip/pour‑over: medium to medium‑coarse
- Keep in an airtight container away from heat and light
- Use within 2–4 weeks of opening for peak freshness
Who is this for: This 16 oz Decaf Le Bean French whole‑bean coffee suits coffee lovers who want the robust taste of a dark French roast without caffeine, people preferring organic and sustainably produced beans, and home brewers who value freshly ground, small‑batch roast quality. It’s also a good pick for those who favor solvent‑free decaffeination and support family‑owned roasters focused on traceable sourcing and consistent roast profiles.
