The Balvenie A Revelation of Cask and Character 19 Year Old 1989 Vintage is an extraordinary, highly coveted release from the distillery's Stories Range. Distilled in 1989 and bottled at 47.5% ABV, this single malt was created by Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE to celebrate the intense, rare character of European oak Oloroso sherry casks. Aged for 19 years exclusively in top-tier sherry butts, it showcases a velvety, deeply complex profile brimming with rich dark fruit, dark chocolate, toasted nuts, and warming winter spices.
Food Pairing: Pairs exceptionally well with dry-aged beef ribeye, dark chocolate ganache tarts, aged Gouda, sticky date pudding, or roasted chestnuts.
Tasting Notes: An exceptionally rich and velvety Speyside single malt delivering prominent notes of dark raisins, espresso, dark chocolate, toasted hazelnut, and seasoned oak spice.
Nose: Intense aromas of dried figs, dark raisins, toasted nuts, orange peel, dark cocoa, and polished oak.
Palate: Full-bodied and luxurious with notes of black cherry, rich fruitcake, dark chocolate, espresso bean, clove, and warm cinnamon spice.
Finish: Exceptionally long, warm, and lingering with notes of dark fruit syrup, cocoa powder, toasted wood, and gentle spice.
Serve: Enjoy neat in a Glencairn glass or with a few drops of water to open up its rich cask layers.
