The syrup combines smooth coffee bitterness, layered caramel and orange notes, and a bright cherry finish, built on Strongwater’s SIP Awards Platinum–winning Old Fashioned recipe. How do I make an Old Fashioned with this mix?
Preparing a cocktail takes less than a minute and requires only three ingredients: ice, the Strongwater espresso Old Fashioned syrup, and your favorite bourbon, rye, or whiskey. The syrup is pre-balanced so measurements are straightforward and reliable every time.
- Fill a rocks glass with large ice.
- Measure the syrup per label directions (yields ~32 drinks per 1 pack).
- Add 2 oz bourbon (or spirit of choice), stir 15–20 seconds, garnish.
- Try a dash of Old Fashioned bitters—cherry, cacao, orange, or walnut—for nuance.
What flavor profile should I expect from the espresso Old Fashioned?
The mix balances bittersweet espresso with layered sweetness and bright cherry notes for a complex sipping experience. You’ll notice caramel and orange undertones that round the profile while the cherry adds a tart finish to complement whiskey’s warmth.
- Primary: rich, bittersweet espresso.
- Supporting: caramel and orange citrus facets.
- Finish: tart cherry accents for brightness.
- Texture: smooth syrup for even integration with spirits.
How should I store and how long will it keep after opening?

- Unopened: store at room temperature, away from light.
- Opened: refrigerate promptly.
- Use within 3–4 months after opening for peak quality.
- Shake gently before serving if separation occurs.
