Introduction
Silverado Miller Ranch Sauvignon Blanc is a bright and expressive white wine from the Yountville AVA in Napa Valley, California. Established in 1981 by Ron and Diane Miller (the daughter of Walt Disney), Silverado Vineyards is now owned by the Foley family, who continue the estate's legacy of crafting "classic Napa" style wines. The Miller Ranch vineyard, purchased by the family in 1976, is situated on the valley floor between the Napa River and Hopper Creek, where silty Yolo Loam and Clear Lake Clay soils provide an ideal environment for aromatic white varieties.
Wine Description
This wine presents a vibrant profile typical of the cooler southern Napa reaches. The nose is dominated by aromatic notes of ruby red grapefruit, lime, and stone fruit, accented by tropical hints of mango and pineapple. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and beautifully balanced, offering zesty citrus flavors of tangelo and lime sorbet alongside orange blossom and pear. The structure is characterized by energetic acidity and a crisp mineral finish, with a slightly oily texture provided by a small portion of barrel fermentation.
