Shenk’s Homestead Sour Mash Whiskey 2024 Release
Shenk’s Homestead Sour Mash Whiskey is a limited-release American whiskey crafted with heritage and innovation. Produced in Kentucky, this small-batch expression pays tribute to John Shenk, the 18th-century distiller who laid the groundwork for what would become Michter’s - one of America’s most respected whiskey producers.
This release is aged in a mix of naturally air-dried and French oak barrels, which impart a refined texture and distinct flavour complexity.
- The nose delivers layered aromas of spiced toffee, dried fruit, and soft oak with an inviting warmth.
- The palate of Shenk’s Homestead Sour Mash Whiskey 2024 reveals rich notes of vanilla, cinnamon, and toasted honey.
- Soft fruit undertones, plum and fig are balanced by gentle pepper and warm baking spice. Smooth mouthfeel with well-integrated oak influence from custom-toasted barrels
This is an excellent sipping whiskey. Best enjoyed neat or with a splash of water to open up the layers of flavour. Ideal food pairings include glazed pork belly, roasted root vegetables, or a spiced bread pudding.
