A magnificent Northern Italian red wine displaying a bright, translucent plum red color. Artfully conceptualized by Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey and Chef Lachlan Patterson, this unique expression highlights a grape that has thrived in Friuli-Venezia Giulia since the Napoleonic era. The highly expressive nose opens with a vibrant, perfumed bouquet of wild raspberries, red currants, and crunchy sour cherries. It evolves beautifully to showcase classic varietal and regional characteristics, including fresh red bell pepper, snappy jalapeño, dried sage, and subtle hints of cedar wood, tobacco leaf, and graphite. On the palate, it balances a energetic, medium-bodied red fruit core and a vibrant, linear alpine acidity with moderate, delicately framed tannins, concluding in an exceptionally clean, dry, and beautifully savory finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs flawlessly with roasted or grilled meats, herb-crusted poultry, rich Italian pasta dishes with savory ragù, and meat-heavy charcuterie boards.
