This elegant white wine originates from Chile, specifically from the Limarí Valley subregion in the Coquimbo region. Founded in 1880, Santa Rita is a pioneer of Chilean viticulture and the first wine group in the country to be certified under the National Sustainability Code in 2011. The Medalla Real label was established in 1983 to honour Francisco García Huidobro, an ancestor of the founding family and the founder of the first Mint in Chile. The winery's philosophy focuses on producing single vineyard wines that express a distinct sense of place through sustainable practices.
Wine Description
The Medalla Real Gran Reserva Chardonnay presents a bright, goldish yellow colour. The sensory profile features an intense and complex bouquet that combines mineral notes with citrus, nectarines, white peach, and flowers. On the palate, the wine is medium to full bodied with a refreshing acidity that balances its fruitiness and creamy, silky texture. It often reveals toasty, nutty aromas and a saline, chalky finish characteristic of the Limarí terroir. While Santa Rita is heavily invested in sustainable viticulture and Ecocert audits, this specific wine is not labelled as organic.
