The founders were among the first in Tuscany to acknowledge that the best wines originate from the finest vineyards, a philosophy Ruffino honours today through meticulous selection of vineyard sites and a commitment to non-interventionist practices in the vineyards and winemaking.
Wine Description
The bouquet is often described as intense and complex, showcasing notes of cassis, cherry jam, and plum from the Sangiovese and Merlot, with the Syrah contributing pleasant spicy notes. Additional aromatic descriptors include hints of vanilla, black pepper, eucalyptus, tobacco, and other spices.
On the palate, the wine is typically dry with a medium body. It is described as fruit-forward and smooth, featuring bright, fruity opening notes and round, elegant tannins. It is noted for its balance and freshness. The finish is long and satisfying, with refined notes of ripe fruit, black pepper, and vanilla.
