Rey Campero "Ponche de Frutas" is an artesanal mezcal inspired by ponche navideño, a spiced fruit punch served during holiday celebrations. This mezcal infuses the robust character of espadín agave with a carefully selected blend of fruits, spices, and natural ingredients. The result is a beautifully balanced spirit that's both familiar and intriguing.
There are notes of stone fruits, citrus, warm baking spices like cinnamon and clove, and subtle sweetness that evokes festive gatherings and joyful celebrations. Each sip delivers the essence of ponche—aromatic, warming, and wonderfully spice made with the craftsmanship that Rey Campero is known for.
With over seventy years of combined experience, Rey Campero represents the culture and tradition of Candelaria Yegolé, a small village in Zoquitlán, a municipality nestled within Oaxaca’s southern mountain range, the Sierra Sur. The fertile soil here, along the Río Quiechapa, is abundant with a wide variety of agave that grow wild along the slopes and canyons, and some of Oaxaca’s most famous maestro mezcaleros call this small district home.
