"The Bridge" is a genuine single-barrel release from Rare Character's ongoing revival of Brook Hill — a Kentucky bourbon brand with real historical depth, originally crafted by Joseph L. Friedman, a figure from the late 19th-century pioneer Kentucky bourbon movement whose Brook Hill Whiskey achieved the genuinely rare distinction of maintaining legal production straight through Prohibition. This particular cask carries the Brook Hill name at 11 years of age, bottled uncut, entirely at natural barrel strength — a substantial 63.22% ABV / 126.4 proof.
As with any true single barrel release, "The Bridge" is genuinely one-of-one: no two barrels in this program share an identical flavor profile, since each is selected and bottled entirely on its own individual merits rather than blended for consistency with any other release. We were not able to locate independently published tasting notes specific to this exact barrel, so rather than guess at its flavor profile or borrow notes from a different cask, we'll let this bottle speak for itself once it's open — the only honest way to know precisely what's inside.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Brook Hill is a whiskey brand with roots in the late 19th-century pioneer era of Kentucky bourbon, originally crafted by Joseph L. Friedman, whose Brook Hill Whiskey maintained legal production through Prohibition — a genuine point of historical distinction. Rare Character Whiskey Co., an independent bottler known for meticulous single-barrel selections, has since revived the Brook Hill name, releasing individual barrels under its own careful curation.
"The Bridge" is one such release: an 11-year-old single barrel of Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled uncut and unfiltered at its full natural barrel strength — 63.22% ABV / 126.4 proof — in a 750ml bottle.
