Remember two years ago when Powstanie released that smooth, delicate, and wildly flavorful limited edition called Catastrophic Failure? The one that earned a remarkable 90 point rating from Halfwheel? When it debuted, the blend was never intended to be a one and done release, and now it returns as Powstanie's fifth core line.
The Powstanie Sumatra introduces a long awaited Sumatra wrapped expression, crafted at Fábrica de Tabacos Nica Sueño S.A. and designed to showcase the balance and complexity that fans have come to expect from the brand. Built around an Ecuadorian Sumatra Seed wrapper, with dual binders from Mexico and Pennsylvania and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua, this cigar delivers a refined medium plus profile that is both approachable and layered.
Available in four box pressed vitolas, including the Petite Robusto (4¾ x 50), Grand Robusto (5½ x 52), Grand Toro (6¼ x 52), and Churchill (7 x 48), each format offers its own unique expression while preserving the blend's core identity. Expect notes of cedar, earth, baking spice, roasted nuts, subtle sweetness, and pepper, creating a smooth and rewarding smoking experience from first light to the final draw.
Set to debut at PCA 2026 and ship shortly thereafter, the Powstanie Sumatra is an exciting addition to the portfolio that blends innovation with familiarity. For fans of the original Catastrophic Failure and lovers of Sumatra wrapped cigars, this is one release you will not want to miss.
