Poggio Torselli Bizzarria Rosato 2022 is a premium, wonderfully expressive, and highly artisanal organic Italian rosé that beautifully captures the vibrant, unconventional spirit of contemporary Tuscan winemaking. Named after the Bizzarria—a rare, historic citrus fruit grown in the estate's spectacular Renaissance gardens—this natural rosato is crafted from native Tuscan grapes (featuring Pugnitello and Sangiovese) grown on limestone and clay-rich soils. In the glass, it pours an intense, glittering salmon-pink color with cerasuolo highlights. The nose is exceptionally giving and complex, opening with an aromatic bouquet of wild strawberries, fresh raspberries, and juicy cherries, seamlessly overlaid with delicate floral notes of jasmine, violets, and rose petals, alongside a whisper of citrus zest and warm kitchen spices. On the palate, this medium-bodied rosato is remarkably fresh, clean, and juicy, combining a silky, rounded texture from extended aging on the fine lees with a lively, crunchy acidity and a pronounced, stony mineral backbone. It drives through to a long, beautifully balanced finish that leaves a refreshing, dry, and pleasantly savory impression.
Food Pairing: This versatile and complex rosé pairs magnificently with fresh seafood, tuna tartare, grilled prawns, wood-fired vegetarian pizzas, tomato-based light pasta dishes, poultry, or a classic Italian charcuterie board featuring prosciutto and soft, creamy cheeses.
