Introduction
Plessis Duval Saumur Champigny originates from the Saumur Champigny appellation in the Middle Loire Valley of France. The estate is part of the Castel Frères portfolio, a group with deep roots in French winemaking that emphasizes the expression of regional savoir-faire and 'terroir'. The vineyard is located in a protected area between the Loire and Thouet rivers, where winemakers have followed a biodiversity and sustainability program since 2004 to preserve the environmental health of the nine villages that comprise the appellation.
Wine Description
This red wine presents a luminous garnet red colour. The sensory profile is elegant and supple, featuring a bouquet dominated by red and black fruits such as cherry and raspberry, alongside floral hints of violet and lavender. On the palate, it is light to medium bodied and well structured, displaying dense black cherry flavours complemented by hints of coffee, green pepper, and savory earth. The wine is defined by fine, velvety tannins and a fresh, balanced finish with spicy undertones. Crafted from 100% Cabernet Franc grapes, it typically has an ABV 12.5%.
