Heaven Hill’s 20th iteration of the Parker’s Heritage Collection arrives with undeniable gravitas. Utilizing a nuanced production technique long championed by the late Parker Beam, this 14-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon integrates rye backset during the initial fermentation process. This singular decision changes absolutely everything. Reusing the acidic, spent mash from rye whiskey distillation catalyzes a profound shift in the resulting spirit's structural DNA, forging an intensely spicy, complex backbone that standard bourbon fermentations rarely achieve.
Sourced from a mere 100 barrels laid down between October 2011 and January 2012, this liquid weathered fourteen grueling Kentucky seasons across four different rickhouses. Parker understood that seemingly minor adjustments yield monumental consequences, and choosing a rye backset proves that exact philosophy. Unfiltered and bottled at a robust 118 proof, this pour deliberately commands quiet contemplation. The resulting whiskey feels immensely dense.
- Fermented with rye whiskey backset to dramatically elevate structural spice
- Aged 14 years across multiple Heaven Hill rickhouses
- Bottled at a barrel-strength 118 proof without chill filtration
- Composed of the traditional 78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley mashbill
