Unlike many cigar companies that seem to release line extensions seemingly on a daily basis, the Oliva family has stuck to their bread and butter with little change over the years. So one would expect a new release would have to be something truly extraordinary. And the Oliva Serie V Melanio Maduro Robusto is just that, an uncompromising cigar for the ages.
Featuring a luscious Maduro wrapper leaf from San Andreas, Mexico, the Oliva Serie V Melanio Maduro Robusto is a 5” x 52 cigar jam-packed with hearty Nicaraguan Habano filler tobaccos from the storied Jalapa region that are stuffed into a Nicaraguan Habano binder leaf to create an amazing 45 minutes to an hour smoke.
As the Oliva Serie V Melanio Maduro Robusto eases into a medium-to-full bodied profile, rich earth and pepper notes flow with a pleasantly subtle creaminess that lurks underneath from start to finish. Salted nuts, sweet cocoa and dark roasted coffee flavors round out the complexity that glides towards an intensely satisfying finale.
The Serie V Melanio Maduro Robusto stands as a glorious celebration of the 19th Century foundations laid by Oliva patriarch Melanio Oliva, while the luscious stick emerges as one of the best Nicaraguan-crafted smokes currently available. These treasures are legends in the making that will surely find their way onto your list of all-time favorites.
