Old Fitzgerald 7 Year Bottled in Bond is the newly released standard shelf expression from Heaven Hill's legendary Old Fitzgerald brand—now available as an everyday release that honors 155 years of bourbon heritage dating back to 1870. Made under the exacting standards of the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, this Kentucky Straight Bourbon is distilled from a wheated mashbill of 68% corn, 20% wheat, and 12% malted barley, aged for seven years in new, charred American oak barrels in federally bonded warehouses, and bottled at exactly 100 proof (50% ABV). This is Old Fitzgerald's signature "Whisper of Wheat" expression—a philosophy introduced by Pappy Van Winkle that has defined the brand's house character for generations. With premium packaging featuring a distinctive decanter-style bottle inspired by 1950s Old Fitzgerald designs, this is bourbon crafted for sharing and celebration.
The nose opens with inviting aromas of graham crackers and honey, complemented by light citrus and summer fruit notes—apricot and orange zest. The palate delivers rich, viscous character with fresh bread, brown sugar, and baking spices, while the finish reveals long-lasting richness with brown sugar sweetness and cinnamon fading to a gentle hint of oak. This is wheated bourbon at its finest—smooth, approachable, and refined without excessive oak or youthful heat. The wheated mashbill creates a buttery, mellow profile that drinks older than its age statement, with complex layers of vanilla custard, toffee, and caramel balanced by subtle spice undertones of allspice and cinnamon.
Perfect served neat in a Glencairn glass or with a splash of water to unlock additional flavor layers, Old Fitzgerald 7 Year BIB pairs beautifully with dark chocolate, roasted pecans, and smoked meats. This is bourbon for those who understand that true hospitality means sharing excellence—Heaven Hill's tagline "Your Key to Hospitality" reflects the brand's heritage of bringing people together around quality spirits. As Heaven Hill proudly produces more Bottled-in-Bond products than any other American whiskey distiller, this expression stands as a testament to their commitment to authenticity, transparency, and the timeless appeal of wheated bourbon craftsmanship.
