The Perfect Cortado Glass: Modern Design Meets Coffee Excellence
Featuring crisp faceted angles that offer a modern look, the notNeutral Vero Cortado Glass completes any coffee bar. Serve and enjoy cortados in a glass with substantial heft and a satisfying hold. This 4.25oz (125ml) colored glass is also perfect for iced coffee, fresh cold-pressed juice, or your favorite drink served neat. Available in six stunning colors, this versatile glass brings professional café quality to your home while doubling as the ideal whiskey glass for tasting spirits.
Why Choose the Vero Cortado Glass?
The Ideal Cortado Vessel
The 4.25oz (125ml) capacity is perfectly sized for traditional cortados (4oz espresso + milk) with just enough room for latte art. A cortado is larger than a macchiato but smaller than a cappuccino, and this glass hits that sweet spot exactly. The size also works beautifully for flat whites, macchiatos, and other small espresso-based drinks.
Designed for Latte Art in Glass
notNeutral addressed the challenge of pouring latte art in a traditional rocks glass by modeling the interior curve after their award-winning Lino cappuccino cup. This interior shape that professional baristas know and love makes latte art easy and beautiful in glass form - something most rocks glasses can't achieve. The curved interior ensures milk flows smoothly and creates beautiful patterns.
Heavy, Satisfying Weight
The solid glass construction provides impressive heft (approximately 250g) that feels substantial and premium in hand. This weight communicates quality, provides stability to prevent tipping, and makes the drinking experience more enjoyable. It's the difference between ordinary glassware and something truly special.
Exaggerated Facets for Modern Look
The crisp faceted angles create a contemporary geometric aesthetic that catches light beautifully. These exaggerated facets provide a secure, comfortable grip while adding visual interest from every angle. The facets make these glasses as much about design as function - they're conversation pieces that elevate your coffee bar or home bar.
Versatile Beyond Cortados
While designed as the perfect cortado glass, the 4.25oz size makes it ideal for:
- Cortados (4oz espresso + milk)
- Macchiatos (espresso + dash of foam)
- Flat whites (small double shot + milk)
- Whiskey neat (1.5-2oz spirit) - Most popular use!
- Bourbon tasting - perfect size for sampling
- Small cocktails (old fashioneds, sazeracs)
- Iced coffee over ice
- Cold brew concentrate
- Juice shots or small pours
Many customers buy these specifically for whiskey tasting!
Product Features & Benefits
Solid Colored Glass Throughout
The vibrant colors - whether it's the popular Smoke gray, rich Emerald green, or warm Amber - run through the entire glass, not just a coating. This solid color construction means the beautiful hues won't fade, chip, or wear off over time, maintaining their beauty through years of daily use.
Dishwasher & Microwave Safe
Despite its quality construction and colored glass, the Vero cortado glass is fully dishwasher safe for everyday convenience. It's also microwave safe for reheating beverages. The durable design stands up to commercial café use and busy home kitchens - no special care or hand-washing required.
Perfect Thermal Mass
The thick glass walls provide excellent thermal properties - maintaining ideal coffee temperature while keeping the exterior comfortable to hold. The substantial construction also prevents rapid temperature loss, giving you more time to enjoy your drink at the perfect temperature.
Natural Variations Add Character
Each glass features slight natural variations - including subtle color differences, small bubbles, and rippling effects. These distinctive characteristics aren't flaws; they're part of the artisanal quality that makes each piece unique with its own personality. No two glasses are exactly alike.
Ergonomic Hexagonal Base
The faceted design isn't just beautiful - it's ergonomic. The hexagonal base and thick rounded rim make these glasses very comfortable to hold. Customers consistently note how well these fit in hand and how the facets prevent slipping, even with condensation.
Professional Café Quality
The Vero Cortado is the most popular item in notNeutral's entire glassware collection. Used in specialty coffee shops worldwide, it represents the quality standards that professional baristas demand. Bring true café-level presentation to your home.

Is this really good for whiskey?
Yes! Many customers buy these specifically for whiskey and bourbon. The 4.25oz size is perfect for 1.5-2oz neat pours, the heavy weight feels premium for spirits, and the faceted design looks stunning on a bar cart. The substantial glass doesn't warm spirits too quickly from hand heat. It's become a favorite among whiskey enthusiasts!
Can you really pour latte art in this glass?
Absolutely! This is what makes the Vero Cortado special. notNeutral modeled the interior curve after their award-winning Lino cappuccino cup, which professional baristas love. This curved interior allows milk to flow beautifully for latte art - something traditional straight-walled rocks glasses can't do. It's why specialty cafés worldwide use these for cortados.
Are the colors solid throughout?
Yes! The colors run through the entire glass, not just a coating. Whether it's Smoke gray, Emerald green, or Amber, the color won't fade, chip, or wear off over time. The glass is colored during manufacturing, making it permanent.
How heavy is this glass?
The Vero cortado glass weighs approximately 250g, which is substantial and feels premium. This heavy weight provides stability, prevents tipping, and feels intentional in hand. It's perfectly balanced - heavy enough to feel quality but not so heavy it's uncomfortable.
Why is this the most popular Vero size?
The 4.25oz cortado is the most popular because it's the most versatile size:
- Perfect for cortados (the specialty coffee drink)
- Ideal for whiskey neat (1.5-2oz pours)
- Great for small cocktails
- Not too big, not too small
- Works for both coffee and spirits equally well
It's the goldilocks size that does everything beautifully!
Do the bubbles and variations mean defects?
No! Natural variations (small bubbles, slight rippling, minor color differences) are inherent characteristics of quality glassware. Each glass is unique with its own character. These features add authenticity and value, not diminish quality.
Can I mix and match colors?
Absolutely! The glasses are sold individually specifically for building custom sets. Popular combinations:
- Pairs: Smoke + Clear, Amber + Smoke
- Trios: Smoke + Amber + Clear (neutral set)
- Quads: Add Emerald or Ocean Blue for color
- Complete Set: All 6 colors for entertaining

The Vero Cortado is better because:
- Perfect 4.25oz size (not too big)
- Heavy quality construction
- Faceted design catches light beautifully
- 6 color options (not just clear)
- Also works for coffee drinks
- More interesting than standard rocks glass
Whiskey enthusiasts love these!
Are these dishwasher safe?
Yes! Despite the quality and colors, the Vero glasses are fully dishwasher safe. Place on top rack, use gentle cycle, and air dry for best results. Colors remain vibrant even after repeated washing.
Can I use these for hot and cold drinks?
Absolutely! The glass handles temperature changes well:
- Hot: Cortados, flat whites, macchiatos
- Cold: Iced coffee, cold brew, spirits, cocktails
Just avoid extreme shocks (like ice water immediately after boiling).
Which color should I choose?
Each color fits different styles:
- Smoke - Most popular! Modern, versatile, works everywhere
- Clear - Classic, shows drink layers, timeless
- Amber - Perfect for whiskey! Warm, vintage vibe
- Emerald - Fresh, vibrant, energetic
- Ocean Blue - Unique, calming, distinctive
