Normandin‑Mercier Fine Champagne 15 Years Old Prestige is a beautifully poised cognac—it strikes a perfect balance between youthful vibrancy and mature complexity. With elegant fruit tones, gentle sweetness and a refined finish, it’s an exceptional entry into the house’s elevated portfolio and offers accessible luxury with notable depth.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Hailing from the Fine Champagne appellation in the Cognac region of France—an assemblage of eaux-de-vie exclusively from the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne crus—this 15-year expression draws on both terroirs: the Grande brings structural sharpness and length, the Petite adds charm and subtlety. The house sources about 90 % Ugni Blanc grapes (with the remainder Colombard and Folle Blanche) and matures the spirit in Limousin oak barrels near the Atlantic coast in La Rochelle, where the maritime environment lends gentle ageing conditions. The result: no artificial colouring, no cold filtration, and a craft-forward spirit of integrity.
Tasting Profile
Nose: Delicate and inviting—dried apricot, fresh almond, honeysuckle and soft vanilla rise gently, giving way to subtle hints of plum and warm brioche.
Palate: Smooth and rich yet refined—ripe stone fruit, honey-ed almond, soft caramel and a light spice (ginger and cinnamon) thread through, while the oak remains softly supportive.
Finish: Long and clean—nuanced with toasted oak, a gentle rancio note of hazelnut, and a bright whisper of citrus-peel that leaves the palate quietly polished and ready for contemplation.
