New Riff Kentucky Wild Gin is made with eleven botanicals distilled in a copper pot still and bottled at 94 proof. Traditional European gin ingredients—angelica, orris root, licorice and three citrus varieties—are joined by locally foraged Kentucky botanicals, including wild juniper berry and American Allspice (Spicebush), both recognized on the Slow Food Ark of Taste.
A touch of new make rye whiskey adds texture and extends the finish. The nose leads with classic gin botanicals marked by American allspice accents, the palate is spicy-dry with rye richness behind it, and the finish is lively with citrus-spice and balanced juniper.
Bottled without chill filtration to keep the full flavor and aroma from the copper pot still. The gin may cloud slightly when chilled, which is a natural and delicious part of its character.
