With the explosion of thick, dark and bold wrapper tobaccos in recent years, the venerable Connecticut Shade leaf had seemingly fallen by the wayside. Father and son super duo Jose and Jaime Garcia have put the Connecticut wrapper leaf back on top with the luxuriously smooth and tasty My Father Connecticut Toro Gordo.
The enticing 6” x 60 My Father Connecticut Toro Gordo is built around a lively blend of Nicaraguan Habano and Criollo filler tobaccos which are held fast by a supple Nicaraguan Corojo 99 binder leaf. The star of the show is the specially fermented Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper leaf that completes the stunning over an hour smoke.
The My Father Connecticut Toro Gordo unloads a plethora of spice notes onto the palate with hints of earth, chocolate and toffee trailing in support. Mild-mannered yet intensely flavorful, the plush journey cruises towards a sweetly satisfying finish with an encore sprinkled with nutmeg, cinnamon and all-spice.
You don’t have to be a Connecticut Shade fan to love the My Father Connecticut Toro Gordo… you just have to love a good smoke. The silky and gratifying My Father Connecticut Toro Gordo is a remarkable offering from the premiere cigar-producing family and should be an easy choice for one and all!
