Espada or “sword” is a line of Montecristo cigars like no other. Crafted in cooperation with the storied Grupo de Maestros and the legendary Plascencia family, the Espada by Montecristo is a Nicaraguan Puro that will delight connoisseurs with intense richness and flavor that must be smoked to be believed!
The Montecristo Espada Ricasso is a brilliantly made 5” x 54 cigar that is draped with a 2010 Habana Jalapa wrapper leaf. Hidden beneath is a 2009 Habana Jalapa binder leaf that shelters a blend of vintage 2008 Habano Jalapa Seco, Habano Jalapa Viso Ometepe and Habano Condega Ligero filler tobaccos.
The 45 minutes to an hour smoke features big and bold earth, cedar and pepper notes that are supported with hearty bursts of nutmeg, cream and spice. A dash of citrus springs onto the palate during the Espada Ricasso’s spirited finale that is at once intense, complex and satisfying.
With each size named after the part of a sword and with a prolific spectrum of flavor, the Espada by Montecristo is a fitting tribute to the adventurous legacy of the Montecristo name. Enjoy this first ever Nicaraguan Puro Montecristo with a snifter of finely-aged Nicaraguan rum after a scrumptious feast of Nicaraguan fare.
