Privada Storytelling
The Mighty 54 is more than a cigar—it’s a slice of history wrapped in Dominican leaf. The name itself recalls a whimsical moment in 1956, when the iconic Mighty Mouse balloon met its ironic match against a New York street sign. The mighty laid low by the mundane—an unforgettable spectacle of fragility and humor.
But beneath that story lies another: a young Chico Rivas, long before his rise as one of the Dominican Republic’s most sought-after blenders, quietly released this blend in 2015, sold only in the Dominican Republic. Few outside those borders ever experienced it. Now, after seven patient years of aging, the Mighty 54 resurfaces like a hidden track from a legendary artist’s early catalog—raw, authentic, and glowing with the promise of future greatness.
Flavor Journey
-
First Third: Opens with cedar and cream, wrapped in a delicate floral sweetness. Notes of toasted almond and cinnamon dance on the tongue, balanced with subtle earthy undertones.
-
Second Third: Evolves into richer flavors of cocoa, oak, and spice. A creamy texture emerges, coating the palate while the retrohale delivers hints of white pepper and dried fruit.
-
Final Third: Strength rises as leather, earth, and roasted coffee join the mix, finishing with a harmony of cedar and sweet spice that lingers long after the final draw.
Why It Belongs in Privada
The Mighty 54 is not just a cigar, it’s a time capsule. It embodies the discovery of Chico Rivas before his name was widely celebrated, offering members of Privada Cigar Club the rare chance to experience his work in its earliest, most unpolished brilliance. Aged for seven years, it bridges past and present, humor and craft, nostalgia and mastery.
