Master of Malt Bunnahabhain Distillery 15 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky originating from the northeastern shores of the Isle of Islay, Scotland. Established in 1881 by the Greenlees Brothers, the distillery is known as the 'most northerly' on the island and was historically accessible only by boat, a heritage reflected by the helmsman icon on its labels. Bunnahabhain is celebrated for its distinctive unpeated style, utilizing mineral-rich water from the Margadale Spring and the tallest pear-shaped stills on Islay to create a lighter, more delicate spirit character.
Description
This 15-year-old expression presents a natural pecan gold hue. The nose opens with an inviting bouquet of fresh dark fruits, specifically black cherries, plums, and blackberries, intertwined with vanilla fudge, shortbread, and a hint of roasted nuts. On the palate, the whisky is silky and full-bodied, unfolding layers of treacle toffee, cinnamon pastries, and dried figs balanced by soft herbal notes and creamy caramel. The finish is long-lasting and warm, characterized by lingering spices, roasted coffee, and a distinct whisper of sea spray that highlights its coastal maturation.
