This structured and historic red wine originates from France, within the celebrated Morgon cru of the Beaujolais region. The estate gained legendary status under the late Marcel Lapierre, an icon who pioneered radical natural winemaking techniques in the 1970s, such as organic viticulture, wild yeast fermentations, and omitting chemical interventions under the mentorship of biochemist Jules Chauvet. Today, the 18-hectare domaine is managed by his children, Mathieu and Camille Lapierre, who carry forward their father's revolutionary philosophy by adding biodynamic practices to ensure the land's pure expression.
Wine Description
Marcel Lapierre Morgon presents a beautiful crimson profile packed with a stimulating, juicy energy. Its sensory profile is incredibly pure and expressive, offering an alluring bouquet of ripe cherries, wild raspberries, and violets layered with subtle hints of licorice, sweet spices, and deep earthy tones. On the palate, the wine is mid-to-full-bodied and texturally rich, showcasing a complex core of dark berries, stone fruits, and minerals. It is characterized by an outstanding freshness, taut acidity, and fine, well-integrated tannins that carry into a long, clean, and salivating finish. This 100% Gamay wine reached an alcohol content (ABV) of 13.5% and was vinified using traditional semi-carbonic maceration before aging on its fine lees in old Burgundy barrels for nine months. Consistent with the estate's natural philosophy, it is bottled without fining or sterile filtration, and the estate is certified organic.
