Our 91 point, Gold Medal-winning Maader 99 Pinotage offers dense fruit flavors and enticing umami characteristics. This local grape is somewhat uncommon outside of its South African home. Those lucky enough to try it fall in love with its bold fruit flavors and satisfying structure. Swartland's climate is hot and dry, cooled by mild Atlantic breezes. This allows grapes to ripen well into March and April—which is harvest time in the Southern Hemisphere. As a fourth-generation, family-run business and members of Fairtrade International™, our local winemaker's partners share our respect for nature and community. They celebrate their heritage and the bright future of South Africa's vineyards by crafting unique wines with charming personalities. Serve this wine with grilled burgers or kebabs to experience its layers of flavor come to life. Scroll through the image carousel above to learn more about this wine.
