Lost Lantern traveled deep into Winston-Salem to uncover a true Blue Ridge juggernaut. Broad Branch Distillery crafted this straight rye entirely from Washington prairie grain before resting the distillate in a heavily charred, fifty-three-gallon American oak barrel. Eight years later, the liquid emerged as a staggering 141.6-proof hazmat release. It'll demand your absolute attention. Those extended seasons inside the wood forged a defiant spirit that firmly won't pull any punches.
High-proof rye of this magnitude rarely maintains such structural integrity. You'll discover layers of grassy mint crashing into profound waves of dark chocolate and intense oak spice. Independent bottlers often avoid extreme ABVs, yet this specific cask showcases the pristine intersection of formidable raw power and deeply nuanced flavor. It doesn't make any apologies. Pour a dram to experience an upland expression that redefines conventional boundaries.
