Last Best Tokyo Drift is a bold, turbo-charged India Pale Ale (IPA) crafted in Calgary, Alberta. The brewery and distillery, which opened its doors in May 2015, derives its name from the historical 'Last Best West' campaign launched by the Canadian government in the late 1800s to grow agriculture in the western prairies. Last Best Brewing & Distilling is part of a family of four Alberta-based breweries, alongside locations in Banff, Jasper, and Fort McMurray.
Description
Colour and Style: This beer is a New England style Hazy IPA that pours a hazy golden colour with a frothy white head.
Aroma: The nose is vibrant and expressive, featuring intense aromas of pineapple, stone fruit, and tangerine, accented by hints of grapefruit, mango, and resinous pine.
Palate and Body: On the palate, it is juicy and full-flavored with layered tropical fruit notes balanced by a smooth, subtle caramel malt backbone.
Finish: The finish is crisp and refreshing with a bold hop bite that reined-in perceived bitterness.
Technical Details: Brewed with a powerful blend of Mosaic, Galaxy, Citra, and Simcoe hops, the beer has an ABV of 7.2% and a bitterness rating of 74 IBU. It is sold in a 24-pack of 473 mL cans.
Philosophy: While not certified organic, the brewery emphasizes small-batch craft production and uses local ingredients, such as malted grains from the Canadian Rockies and heritage barley from Northern Alberta
