Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2025 marks the latest release in Crowned Heads’ celebrated annual series honoring the lives of those who have passed. Rolled at the renowned My Father Cigars S.A. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, this year’s edition showcases a rare take on the classic Mexican San Andrés wrapper. Instead of the darker, maduro shades typically associated with San Andrés, the 2025 blend features a mid-priming wrapper that reveals a lighter Colorado hue. This unique choice brings forward refined notes of coffee, espresso, and toffee, while balancing the Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos with elegance and nuance.
Offered here at the Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2025 four-cigar sampler: 2025 LC52 (5 x 52), 2025 LC54 (6 x 54), 2025 LC56 (5 x 56), 2025 Petite Lancero (6 1/2 x 40). Get all four sizes in one collectible box.
As with every release since its debut, the 2025 edition carries the spirit of tradition and remembrance, while offering a distinct new profile for collectors and connoisseurs alike.
“What’s unique about this year’s Las Calaveras release is that not only are we utilizing a San Andres cover leaf, but it’s a color grade that most people would not immediately associate with San Andres (Mexico) wrapper,” said Jon Huber, co-founder of Crowned Heads, in a press release when the cigar was announced in June. “We selected a mid-priming wrapper, which resulted in a lighter Colorado color to the cigar as opposed to the more commonly seen darker maduro shades of Mexican San Andres wrappers used. This particular wrapper really complements the blend and allows for the coffee, espresso, and toffee notes to come to the surface that can typically get lost under the pepper and earth profile that the darker, higher priming wrappers yield.”
