La Puritita Verda Joven Mezcal from Pierde Almas is an un-aged mezcal distilled from 100% Espadin agave in the mountains of Oaxaca, Mexico. Production stays small: each batch is handcrafted by a fifth-generation maestro mezcalero, and the spirit is bottled at 80 proof with no artificial colorings, flavors, or preservatives. One 750 mL bottle.
Smoke and light spice lead on the nose. The palate is smoky and earthy, with roasted agave, sweet Espadin, and light caramelized notes, while citrus zest, a touch of minerality, and pepper carry through the finish. It works well in a young soul cocktail.
