The Linea Classic S is the machine that put La Marzocco behind the bar. It carries the original 1990 Linea silhouette forward on a modern platform: dual insulated boilers, saturated group heads and independent PID control on both the coffee and steam circuits. For a café that needs a workhorse rather than a showpiece, this is the most direct route into the La Marzocco line.
Why the Classic S earns its place
- Saturated group heads: each group is in permanent thermal equilibrium with the coffee boiler rather than being heated separately, so brew temperature holds steady from the first shot of the morning through the rush.
- Dual insulated boilers: a 3.4 L coffee boiler and a 7 L steam boiler run independently, so full-pressure steaming never robs the brew circuit. The insulation cuts standby energy draw and helps hold temperature between shots.
- Dual PID control: separate PID controllers on the coffee and steam boilers let you dial brew temperature to the roast and set steam pressure to suit your milk programme, adjusted from the front of the machine.
- Half-turn steam valve: a 180° lever gets you from closed to full steam in one motion, which matters when you are texturing back-to-back jugs.
- Water conductivity sensor: the machine monitors incoming water hardness and conductivity, giving you early warning before scale becomes a service call.
- La Marzocco Pro App: the electronic board supports connectivity with the Pro App for remote monitoring, scheduling and diagnostics.
Choosing your configuration
- EE (Semi-Automatic): a single on/off switch per group. The barista controls the shot by eye and by scale. Simplest to operate, fewest electronics to service, and the choice of bars that dial in by weight.
- MP (Mechanical Paddle): a manual paddle per group giving direct control over pre-infusion and flow. No volumetric dosing and no electronics in the shot path — the pick for baristas who want to feel the extraction rather than programme it.
- AV (Auto-Volumetric): programmable volumetric doses per group with flow-meter control, so every shot stops at the same yield regardless of who is on bar. The right pick for high-volume and multi-barista sites.

Neighbourhood cafés, restaurants and bakeries doing steady daily volume; second machines for training bars and offices; sites that want La Marzocco reliability and service support without the technology tier of the PB or GB5.
Custom RAL colours are available on the side and back panels to special order; base and chassis remain black. Contact us to confirm current lead time.
